At Hobbs we don’t work just with tangible goods, we also produce electronic copies which like our books can varying forms. Ebooks – virtual representations of a physical book with the ability to turn the cover and flick through the pages. With customer specific branding and URLs this product can increase the geographical audience of the publication. With a digital product we can also add interactive layers including links to websites, email links, slideshows of images and embedded videos.Hobbs has always been pleased to support a number of local and national charities with donations and free printing.

This year the Hobbs Staff decided that the Staff Charity should be the 'Ronald McDonald House' that is situated next to the Southampton General Hospital. The Ronald McDonald House has 53 bedrooms for families to stay if they have a child being treated at the hospital – free of charge

Southampton General Hospital helps children with serious health problems who live throughout south-west England as well as the Channel Islands. Often a child is an emergency case which means that the parents will have little or no time to arrange accommodation for themselves whilst their son or daughter is staying at the hospital. This is when the Ronald McDonald House can provide such an important and appreciated service.

McDonalds give a donation each year that covers 10% of the total running costs of the House, the difference has to be met from voluntary donations from the local community.

Hobbs Staff has already started raising money for ‘Ronald McDonald House’ through: donations made at the Staff Golf Day; a ‘Wear your Christmas-Jumper Day’ and a raffle that took place just before Christmas, with prizes being donated by the staff themselves.

We have recently had a visit from the fund-raiser of the Southampton Ronald McDonald House, Michelle, to collect a cheque from us and to thank Hobbs the Printers for our support.
